With 25+ years of experience designing and implementing learning solutions, Melanie Futrell has worked on international projects with subject matter experts across the globe and on learning solutions that have been translated into multiple languages. Her experience analyzing business processes and the needs of learners and users, combined with in-depth knowledge of sound instructional design principles, provide her with the necessary skills to design learning and performance solutions that meet the unique needs of clients.
Melanie is an ATD Master Instructional Designer and the founder of a successful consulting practice that designs and develops e-learning, blended learning, and instructor-led technical training materials for a variety of industries, including aviation and oil and gas. She provides end-to-end consulting services: analyzing organizational needs, collaborating with subject matter experts to design learning solutions, developing engaging learning resources, working with client teams to implement programs, and evaluating the efficacy and effectiveness of learning programs.

- Several programs for a Fortune Global Top 10 oil and gas company, including an onboarding program for chemical engineers and scientists in the Canadian oil sands division, bitumen manufacturing process training with theory and hands-on learning outcomes, and a risk and hazard management e-learning course translated into eight languages and implemented corporation-wide
- Several programs for a multistate natural gas provider, including theory and hands-on training programs for service technicians, measurement technicians, corrosion technicians, and construction operators, as well as an enterprise-wide cybersecurity campaign
